Our Rental Process
When renting with Wintergreen, we provide you with core warm and wind layers. We suggest you bring your own wicking and mid-layers to wear underneath.

- Two Weeks notice is required.
- Gear will be available at a first come, first serve, basis.
Please check our hours for store availability.
Outfitting hours end at 4pm, please be here before 4pm to pick up your gear. Pickup may take up to an hour to try gear on and make final decisions.
If arriving in Ely after 4pm and gear is needed, please contact us & we'll arrange getting your items to you.
Dressing For Dogsledding: Staying Warm
We'll be sure you're warm and cozy on your Wintergreen trip. You'll come away with not just a great dogsledding experience, but also with greater comfort and confidence in winter recreation as a lifelong endeavor. We'll help you gather what you need. Here are the basics:
- Long johns top & bottom (synthetic, not cotton)
- A couple of sweater tops &/or down vest
- Insulated jacket (or shell+ fleece anorak)
- Insulated pants (or shell+ fleece pants)
- A couple of warm hats & neckband
- Thin (liner) gloves & insulated mittens
- Thin (liner) & thick socks (a couple of pairs)
- Insulated boots (with removable liners for drying)
**Overpacking is necessary for trips like this. The more you have, the better prepared you will be in potential warm or extreme conditions!
